Terms of Service

jak-doo.com is a fortune-telling (saju) entertainment service featuring a fictional shaman persona, currently offered in Korean and Traditional Chinese. Its core features are:

• Saju readings: you submit a short profile (name or nickname, gender, relationship status, calendar type, and date and — optionally — time of birth), and the Service calculates your Four Pillars (사주) chart and generates an AI-written interpretive reading.
• AI character chat: an AI character called “Kim Jeom-rye” (김점례), a fictional late shaman, chats with you based on your reading.
• Kim Jeom-rye and the surrounding backstory (the “restored ledgers”) are entirely fictional creative works; any resemblance to real persons, living or deceased, is coincidental.

The Service is provided for entertainment and personal-reference purposes only. Fortune-telling readings and AI conversations are not medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, or financial advice, are not a diagnosis or treatment of any condition, and are not predictions you should rely on when making decisions. AI-generated content can be inaccurate or inapplicable to your situation.

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
• Some features can be used without an account. To purchase paid features or keep your results and conversations, you sign in with a Google or Kakao account.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us at hi@jak-doo.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

Taking a reading and viewing its preview are free. Paid features include unlocking the full reading (점사 전문) and purchasing additional chat turns (“credits”).

• Free chat allowances, if offered, are tracked per reading and may be limited per network address, and may replenish after a waiting period.
• Prices, contents, and quantities of paid products are displayed at checkout and may change with notice. Purchased credits are added to your account upon successful payment.
• Credits and unlocked readings are licenses to use features of the Service; they are not money, have no cash value, and are not transferable.

Payments are processed by third-party payment processors, currently Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number or bank account details. Your payment information is handled by the processor under its own terms and privacy policy. Prices may be displayed and charged in Korean Won (KRW) or other currencies, and your payment provider may apply currency conversion or fees.

Refunds for paid products are governed by our Refund Policy at jak-doo.com/refund (provided in Korean, with a Traditional Chinese translation for reference; the Korean version governs). In summary: unused credits may be refunded within the stated period, partially used purchases may be refunded on a pro-rated basis, and content that has already been consumed or viewed may not be refundable. You retain ownership of the profile details, concern descriptions, chat messages, and other content you submit (“User Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and process your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service — including transmitting it to the AI providers we use to generate your results and replies. If you create a share link, the shared result (and the conversation, if you choose to include it) becomes viewable by anyone with the link until you stop sharing.

• Do not use the Service in a way that violates any law or the rights of others.
• Do not submit content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful to others.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service, or circumvent usage limits or payment requirements.
• Do not use automated means to access the Service except as permitted by us.

The Service — including its design, artwork, characters and their backstories (including Kim Jeom-rye), software, and generated reading formats — is owned by Little Samo or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for your User Content, we grant you only a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service as intended.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LITTLE SAMO WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account and data by contacting hi@jak-doo.com. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service (or any feature) if you violate these Terms or where reasonably necessary to protect the Service or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, and 9–14) will survive.

We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes to the Terms, we will provide notice through the Service (for example, by updating the date above). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at hi@jak-doo.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where the law of your place of residence grants you non-waivable consumer protections or venue rights.
